Deleting Instagram account
Recently, Instagram unveiled its new TOS (terms of service which states that users automatically agree to enable Instagram to sell their users' (your) pictures to third parties such as advertisers, advertising companies and media companies.

Although the chances of your picture ending up on a billboard advertising, pantyliners, for most of us it is an unacceptable option we really cannot do anything against.

Here is how you can download all your content from Instagram and delete / remove your account. You may opt for a Google Picassa account as an alternative for your Instagram account, as Picassa really does protect your images under private copyright. >>>

Downloading pictures from Instagram

You can use the application Instaport to download your images from Instagram and store it temporarily or indefinitely on your own computer, flash drive or any other physical media. Your images will be saved as a zip-achrive. Alternatively it's also possible to directly transfer your pictures to your Facebook- or Flickr-account.

Next, you should remove all your photos from Instagram. This ensures that Instagram will legally not be able to use your pictures after your account has been deleted.

How to delete your instagram account
To remove / delete your Instagram account you can go directly to this page. Once you delete your Instagram account, that’s it. Instagram cannot reactivate deactivated accounts and you will not be able to sign up for Instagram later with the same account name.
Now you can start using Picasa, Flickr or another alternative service. We prefer Picasa since it perfectly integrates into Blogger, Google+ and Google Drive.
